Kari Kylo
Founder & CEO

Strategy is Kari’s strength, and her first objective is success for her clients. She only wins when her clients succeed. Therefore, she creates and implements PR strategies with this as her key objective.
Kari has 25-plus years of communications experience and a diverse portfolio of skills and areas of expertise. Since January 2007, she has owned and managed SOMA Public Relations. Services have included planning and executing global PR campaigns, managing internationally recognized festivals and events, and strategic planning and execution of internal and external marketing and communications plans.
In addition, Kari has over ten years of magazine publishing, editing and copywriting experience, and has produced an extensive amount of communications copy for numerous clients.
Kari began her journey in communications at PACE Group and DDB. From 2000 through to 2007, she worked at Brian Jessel BMW and Brian Jessel Ferrari/Maserati as the Marketing Manager. Over a seven-year period, Kari developed and managed innovative events and marketing programs that helped the company grow to be the top-selling BMW dealership in Canada.
Callandre Kennedy

Cal is a vibrant, results-oriented communications professional. Over the last seven years, Cal has worked with emerging and established organizations across the globe in the health and wellness, food and beverage, apparel and fintech spaces.
Recognized for her ability to lead cross-functional internal teams and manage external stakeholder relationships seamlessly, drive client business forward and solve meaningful problems. She has launched large-scale rebrand strategies and executed numerous events across North America.
Born and raised in Ontario, Cal moved out to the wild west coast in 2021 with her fiancé Aaron and their dog Kona. She currently lives on the North Shore and is happiest running or biking the trails with her family and friends.
Rebecca Peters

Rebecca is a strategic communications and PR professional with a love for impactful storytelling. She is a firm believer that strong communications is essential for businesses to grow successfully and does her best work alongside organizations that inspire change.
She has over a decade of global in-house and agency experience advocating and driving brand awareness for businesses in the UK, US and Canada. She is recognized for her deep expertise in leading external communications strategies that create impact, while bringing a voice to leaders and stakeholders through compelling thought leadership approaches.
Originally from the UK, Rebecca moved to Vancouver in 2017, and is proud to be a dual citizen. She recently moved to the Sunshine Coast with her husband, James, and son, Otto, where she spends as much time as possible at the local beaches, trying new drinks at the coast cideries and building magnetic blocks with Otto.
Christina Demare

Christina is a dynamic, results-driven communications professional with over six years of experience bringing purpose-led stories to life. She has worked with a wide range of organizations across various industries, including financial services, technology, and food and beverage, developing campaigns that spark conversation and drive meaningful change.
She’s known for her collaborative approach, strong media instincts, and expertise in leading integrated campaigns from strategy to execution. In addition to traditional PR, Christina has extensive experience coordinating social media initiatives, managing influencer programs, and executing events that boost brand visibility and engage audiences. Her work has earned national recognition for its focus on social impact and community empowerment.
Originally from Vancouver, Christina is deeply inspired by the communities around her. When she’s not working, you’ll find her exploring new cafes, catching live music, thrifting for unique finds, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
Kristin Anton

Kristin is a dynamic communications professional with a passion for storytelling and sustainability. She has worked with clients across industries ranging from non-profit and community organizations to fashion and wellness, supporting them with strategy, media outreach, and event execution.
Known for her ability to build meaningful relationships, manage complex projects, and create messaging that resonates, Kristin brings a thoughtful and people-focused approach to every campaign. She is actively pursuing her Master’s in Sustainable Fashion, where she is exploring the intersection of innovation, systems change, and community engagement.
Outside of work, Kristin loves spending time by the ocean or in the mountains, often running the seawall or exploring Vancouver’s trails. She has a passion for thrifting and supporting sustainable fashion brands, and she never misses a chance to catch a live concert.
Harleen Kaur
Public Relations Coordinator

Harleen is a firm believer in the power of communication to drive change and actively seeks challenges where she gets to help organizations thrive by developing creative and innovative ideas. Over the past seven years, she has worked to execute external and internal communication strategies, corporate social responsibility commitment, rebranding, and event management to drive business growth, build brand equity, and employee engagement. She loves spontaneity, and it is one of the reasons she is passionate about public relations and communications.
She moved to Canada to pursue a project management diploma and was elected as a board member for a student’s union and the college board. This experience deepened her commitment to the non-profit sector and to supporting causes focused on the environment, education, and human and animal welfare.
Being a newcomer, Harleen immediately fell in love with Metro Vancouver and everything it has to offer in terms of access to nature, local shops and the kindness of people. In her free time, she loves exploring the area and welcomes any suggestions for good food, picnic spots and weekend getaways.
Kithara Kekulthotuwage

Kithara is passionate about mobilizing audiences through creative and strategic communications that address environmental and social issues. With a background in Communications and Publishing from Simon Fraser University, she has led both academic and personal projects that disseminate information through artistic mediums, blending visual and written storytelling to make complex topics accessible and compelling.
She is committed to amplifying marginalized voices, advancing environmental advocacy, and translating political policy into narratives that inform and engage diverse audiences. Through her experience in social media branding and communications, Kithara has developed strengths in research, storytelling, informative writing, content creation, and media management. Her goal is to contribute to purpose-driven organizations that strive toward meaningful social impact.
As a Sri Lankan immigrant, Kithara draws inspiration from her cultural heritage in both her digital and physical art, using self-expression as a bridge between identity and community. In her free time, she enjoys long walks, bike rides, baking, and exploring new corners of Vancouver with friends.
Ellie Yaron

Ellie is a marketing student at Dalhousie University, currently gaining hands-on experience at SOMA Public Relations. She is passionate about developing projects that promote sustainability and create a positive impact.
Through her initiatives at university, Ellie has gained experience in social media management, content creation and event planning. She has developed skills in creative communication, campaign coordination, digital marketing and audience engagement. Ellie enjoys producing creative and meaningful content that brings people together.
Born and raised in Metro Vancouver, Ellie values the close connection she has with her local community and enjoys being involved in projects that support connection and positive change. Outside of work and school, she enjoys hiking, baking and discovering new books to read.
Cayley Dow

Cayley has over 20 years as an HR executive primarily within the service and impact sectors. She is experienced in talent acquisition, learning and development, culture and employee engagement, and strategic executive support. In 2020, Cayley founded Thrivity HR, a consulting and coaching firm that helps service-oriented businesses to thrive in the ever-evolving world of work. Cayley is a certified Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and is the recipient of numerous awards including the 2021 Leadership and Entrepreneur Award from the University of Guelph.
A nature lover and outdoor enthusiast, Cayley enjoys an active lifestyle with her husband and two children in the mountains of Squamish, BC where her free time is spent in the wilderness on bike, foot, and ski.
