Keeping Flexible Plastics Out of Landfills

Did you know that Recycle BC recycles more than 90% of the plastics they collect, and 99% of that is reprocessed and turned into new products right here in BC? The more we recycle, the more we keep these materials in circulation right here in BC.

Flexible plastics are any soft plastics you can easily crumple or fold - for example, bubble wrap, chip bags, or an Amazon delivery mailer. The average person encounters up to 30 flexible plastics a day. They add up quickly through food packaging, delivery packaging and household essentials.

Every day, many British Columbians throw away flexible plastic items that could be recycled—often without realizing it. Here is how you can easily recycle your flexible plastics:

  • At Home: Use the pink bin system if it's available in your community or building.

  • At a Depot: Drop them off at any of Recycle BC’s 240+ depots.

  • On the Go: Bring them to any of the 51 London Drugs locations across the province.
